Description
For sale is the very large antique Chinese vase which is prolifically decorated in the Famille Rose palette. The vase has ornate hand-painted foo dog handles and gilt lizards all in raised relief. The vase is completely covered in intricate hand-painted designs and scenes, with several large cartouches depicting Chinese royalty and palace settings. The neck of the vase rises into an extended scalloped rim with butterflies and flowers handpainted on white ground.
This is a very large vase and is palatial in size and presence. On the base of the vase, there is a six-figure Qianlong mark (25 September 1711 – 7 February 1799) within two concentric red circles.
