Description

For sale is this beautiful antique19th century Chinese porcelain vase with a tall, ovoid body, waisted, tubular neck and spreading scalloped rim, and two foo-dog handles with further moulded lizards in applied relief around the shoulder. The light teal colour stands out amongst the traditional Famille Rose colours of reds, pinks and greens. The scalloped flared rim has three sets of floral designs.

The colours used to create this vase are stunning including the bright yellows in the large hand-painted scenes depicting an Emporer and his warriors against a naturistic background. There is so much detail in the painting that it shows the level of expertise of the craftsperson that made the vase. The vase base has white porcelain ground.
