For sale is this very rare large Chinoiserie vase made by Rorstrand Sweden in the 1800s (c1880). Rorstrand has been one of Sweden’s top ceramic and porcelain producers for over 300 years and this large Chinoiserie vase is one of their best pieces. The craftsmanship that has gone into the design of this vase is exceptional. Implementing the oriental Chinese style with a blue and white gold gilt bordering the intricate artwork captures and keeps the eye. The main body design is of various symbols, designs and foliage. There are two main Chinese home-style scenes in gilt-bordered cartouches. I could go on and on about the design but please see for yourself in the images.
On the base of the vase in both impressed and inked format is the Rorstrand branding. Personally, I have never seen another Rorstrand vase from the 19th century with such detailing, size, and in such excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or restoration.
