Circa 1875-1908 this expertly crafted and hand-painted Chinese Guangxu punch bowl has hand-painted figural scenes within panels depicting domestic scenes of a Mandarin official’s family alternating with butterflies and rouge-pink flowers. The whole of the bowls surface exterior and interior is covered in hand-painted rose medallion coloured conventional borders, decoration and Mandarin family scenes. It’s a truly impressive large antique Chinese bowl. The centre of the interior bowl has a further scene depicting Chinese figures on a walkway. On the base of the bowl and iron-red is a Qing Guangxu six-character mark surrounded by two red concentric circles.
