Description
For sale is this lovely pair of well-used and intricately decorated silver plate antique candlesticks. This pair of sticks are very ornate with repousse decoration of flowers and leaf scrolls and removable sconces. They are statement pieces and will stand out on any dining/side table or mantle piece. Moreover, they are in remarkably excellent condition with no dents or marks.
The bases of the candlesticks are covered in felt so I cannot ascertain any markings (if there are any) without damaging the felt.
The silverplate covers copper underneath and in places the copper colour shines through giving them a well-aged look. In the United Kingdom, Sheffield silver plate on copper first came into being in 1742
