For sale is this pair of exceptionally crafted neo-classical Adam-style corinthian column candlesticks are late Georgian period dating from 1833. These antique silver plated candle sticks both have clear hallmarks and were made by Hawksworth Eyre & Co (Charles Hawksworth and John Eyre) in 1833 Sheffield.
Meticulously looked after over the last 190 years this pair of 19th-century candlesticks are ornately crafted with harebell swag decoration swirling up the main stems. The base of each candle stick has paterae and harebell decoration with ribbed borders below and above. The true corinthian column-style candle stick heads are ornately decorated with leaf-like and roman column designs.
As antique neo-classical silver plate candlesticks, they are simply astounding, in their elegance, craftsmanship and presence. In my experience I have not come across a pair quite like these, they are of unique design and are definitely heirloom quality.
