This is a rare chance to get your hands on a piece of ceramic history in the form of this c1870s Majolica Four Trumpet Epergne by George Skey. If you have not heard about George Skey majolica ceramics check out these pieces recently sold by Christie’s for £16,000.00 (https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-5913470). George Skey is a well-recognised top ceramic manufacturer of the late 1800s. He is mentioned in The Ceramic Art of Great Britain book written by LLewellynn Jewitt and published in 1972.

About This Majolica Trumpet Epergne

It has four trumpet stems, three that surround the taller middle one. The colour and design are typical of the majolica produced by Skey. There is his companies stamp to the base which can be seen in the images for this product.


The condition is excellent, there are some tiny nibbles to the rims but apart from that, it is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration.
