A large and heavy c18th century jade carving of a Mongolian Chinese General…
This sale is for an early (possibly 18th century) large green and brown jade carving of a Mongolian Chinese General of considerable size. The detail in the carving is exquisite, depicting the general in full garb with an expressive face and ribboned neck collar. In one hand he holds a large staff and in the other he is holding a contoured fan. He is wearing a flowing robe of which his knees and foot can be seen jutting out. This is a remarkable piece of antique Chinese jade carving and would look great on display anywhere it is placed.
