Chinese Famille Rose
Introduced into the Chinese porcelain ware market from Europe in the 1600s Famille Rose was the use of opaque rose colours, mainly pink or carmine. Defined by the presence of pink colour overglaze enameling Famille Rose became one of the main ways of porcelain decoration.
Famille Rose Plate
Based on the blue seal mark combined with the overall look and feel of this piece the date is definitely the 19th century. This Chinese Famille Rose charger plate would look amazing in any display cabinet or on the wall. There are no chips, cracks or restoration, there is small firing mark next to the blue seal on the back but this is from when it was made.
